Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?
You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.
What are per-person contracts?
Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Campus Point has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.
What is included in the rate?
Each resident at Campus Point pays a flat rate that includes:
- Furniture package, including leather-style living room and full-size bed
- High-speed Internet
- Water & sewer
- Trash removal
- Free on-site laundry
- 24-hour on-site management
- Community features — pool, workout room, etc.
Are private bathrooms available?
Yes. Select apartments include private bathrooms.
Are the apartments furnished?
Yes, all apartments include a complete set of furniture, including full-size beds, dressers, desks, leather-style sofa and armchair, coffee table and counter stools. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model apartment.
When do the contracts start and end?
The standard annual term is August 15, 2019 to July 28, 2020, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited semester terms and other alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Campus Point also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.
Will my financial aid cover charges at Campus Point?
Your living costs at Campus Point can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Campus Point. Regular payment deadlines will continue to apply.
Is Campus Point open to non-students?
Most of the residents at Campus Point are students at Illinois State University or Heartland Community College, and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Campus Point is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student apartment-mates, non-students must apply together with enough apartment-mates to fill an apartment.
What kind of safety and security are provided?
Campus Point offers private locking apartment entrances, plus locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times, plus security cameras are located in certain areas. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.
What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?
Campus Point is a no-pets community. Smoking is permitted when all apartment-mates consent; the residents will share a minimum $250 deep cleaning fee if there is any smoking in an apartment. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.
Can I park my vehicle at Campus Point?
Campus Point offers free parking for all residents. Limited free guest parking is available as well.
What other transportation options will I have?
A Connect Transit Yellow Route bus stop is nearby for transportation to Illinois State University and back, with service 6:16am to 2:30am weekdays and 7am to 2:30am weekends. It’s as little as 11 minutes from campus. Or bike or drive to the ISU campus or Bloomington in minutes. And just go right across Raab Road to Heartland Community College.
